Summer School Classes

Build a strong path for academic success with Metro Continuing Education. With Metro’s Summer School courses, you can earn 5-credits in four weeks. Metro Summer School is an intense experience, where students are fully immersed every day, learning with rich and robust experiences. Full attendance is expected, as the compressed timeline makes the courses move quickly. If you’re up for the challenge, this is a great opportunity to complete your studies in just 18 days of class.

Summer School 2025 is open to:

Students who are under 20 years old on September 1, 2024

Criteria:

  • Current Edmonton Public School student
  • OR Student will be attending an Edmonton Public School in September 2025
Students who are over 20 years old on September 1, 2024

Criteria:

  • Only for 30-level courses
  • AND Student has taken another Metro class within the 2024-25 school year

How to specify your current/upcoming High School:

  • Students finishing Grades 9-11: Indicate the high school you are registered to attend in the upcoming 2025-26 school year.
  • Students finishing Grade 12 and Metro mature student: Indicate the high school you attended in the previous 2024-25 school year.
  • Students finishing Grades 9-11 who are NOT registered to attend an Edmonton Public School in the 2025-26 school year: In the high school dropdown below, select "Non-returning Grade 9-11 student"

Important notes

  • The Metro team will verify your choice for accuracy and eligibility. Classes will appear based on the school you specify here. If you are not eligible to take the class, you will be withdrawn from the class with no notice. The $60 program fee is non-refundable.
  • Students with administrative flags (expulsion, superintendent directed transfer) for the 2024-25 school year include summer school registrations, and must register according to the superintendent's decision and direction.

English 10-2

In the English 10-2 program, students will develop a variety of reading, comprehension and writing strategies and well they will respond to texts at a variety of different levels of sophistication. This course sequence satisfies the English Language Arts requirements for a high school diploma and it will prepare students for some post-secondary programs.

This course sequence satisfies the English Language Arts requirements for a high school diploma, and it will prepare students for some post-secondary programs.

This course sequence, 10-2, 20-2, 30-2, satisfies the English Language Arts requirements for a high school diploma, and it will prepare students for some post-secondary programs.
