Math 15 |
This 5 credit option course is for students who have earned 50-64% in grade 9 Math. The class aims to build confidence in students by reinforcing and developing skills in number sense (multiples, factors, integers, fractions) exponents, graphing, solving equations, polynomials and problem solving. Having a strong foundation of these essential skills will benefit students to be more successful in future mathematics courses, specifically Math 10C which Math 15 is considered a preparation course for. | No classes available. No classes available. |
Prerequisite: Recommended for students with 50 - 64% in Math 9 Credits: 5 |
Math 10-3 |
This course is designed for students who intend to pursue a career in most trades. The 10-3 course sequence is designed to provide students with the mathematical understandings and critical-thinking skills identified for entry into the majority of trades and for direct entry into the work force. The particular topics covered in this course are Measurement, Geometry, Reasoning, Trigonometry, Ratios, and Income. | No classes available. No classes available. |
Prerequisite: Completion of Grade 9 Math Credits: 5 |
Math 20-3 |
Math 20-3 is designed for students who have successfully completed one of the prerequisites listed below, and is designed to provide students with the mathematical understandings and critical-thinking skills necessary for entry into the majority of trades or for direct entry into the work-force. Topics include: Algebra, Geometry, Measurement, Number, Statistics and Probability. Completion of Math 20-3 will assist students in meeting the mathematics requirement for the high school diploma. | No classes available. No classes available. |
Prerequisite: Math 10-3 (50%+) or Math 10C (40%+) Credits: 5 |
Math 30-3 |
Math 30-3 prepares you for entry into the majority of trades and for direct entry into the work force. Topics include: Algebra, Geometry, Measurement, Number, Statistics and Probability. | No classes available. No classes available. |
Prerequisite: Math 20-2 (40%+) or Math 20-3 (50%+) Credits: 5 |
Math 10C |
This course sequence is designed to provide students with the mathematical understandings and critical-thinking skills identified for entry into post-secondary programs that require the study of calculus. In Math 10C, students will develop: spatial sense and proportional reasoning; algebraic reasoning and number sense; and algebraic and graphical reasoning through the study of relations. A graphing calculator is required for this course (preferably TI-83 Plus). | No classes available. No classes available. |
Prerequisite: Math 9 (50%+) Credits: 5 |
Math 20-2 |
Students will prepare for post-secondary studies in programs that do not require the study of calculus. Topics include geometry, measurement, numbers and logic, logical reasoning, relations and functions, statistics and probability. A graphing calculator is required for this course (preferably TI-83 Plus). | No classes available. No classes available. |
Prerequisite: Math 10 Combined (50%+) Credits: 5 |
Math 30-2 |
In the Math 30-2 program, students will prepare for entry into post-secondary programs that do not require advanced mathematical skills, such as Arts, medical technologies, or some apprenticeship programs. Topics include: Logical Reasoning, Probability and Relations and Functions. | No classes available. No classes available. |
Prerequisite: Math 20-2 (50%+) or Math 20-1 (40%+) Credits: 5 At this time Alberta Education is planning to administer diploma exams in August for 30 level classes. Students are required to write the diploma exam to receive a final mark in the course. Students must be available to write the exam in person. Click here for details. |
Math 20-1 |
Students will prepare for entry into post-secondary programs that require the study of calculus: topics include Algebra and Numbers, Trigonometry, and Relations and Functions. A graphing calculator is required for this course (preferably TI-83 Plus). | No classes available. No classes available. |
Prerequisite: Math 10C (50%+) Credits: 5 |
Math 30-1 |
In the Math 30-1 program, students will prepare for entry into post-secondary programs such as engineering, mathematics, sciences or other programs that require advanced math skills. Topics include: Trigonometry, Relations and Functions, Permutations and Combinations and Binomial Theorem. A graphing calculator is required for this course and students are expected to supply their own. This course is a co-requisite for Math 31. | No classes available. No classes available. |
Prerequisite: Math 20-1 (50%+, but a mark of 60%+ is strongly recommended) Credits: 5 At this time Alberta Education is planning to administer diploma exams in August for 30 level classes.
